West and Associates, L.L.P. has a team Public Finance Practitioners with extensive expertise in financings for cities, school districts, counties, and other public agencies. The Public Finance Section brings together an interdisciplinary team of attorneys who participate in a wide range of public projects and programs. The attorneys in our Public Finance Section serve as co-bond counsel, underwriter’s counsel, as well as counsel for issuer’s, borrower’s, and all types of financings by public entities throughout the State of Texas.

Collectively, attorneys on our Public Finance Team have been advising clients on tax-exempt and taxable bonds issues, and rendering market opinions for governmental issuers for over ten years. Members of the firm’s Public Finance Section are well-versed in all applicable provisions of federal and state tax laws relating to tax-exempt financings including, provisions relating to arbitrage bond restrictions, rebate to the federal government and private activity bonds.

Attorneys at West and Associates, L.L.P. have served as bond counsel using different credit enhancement techniques such as supplemental pledges of tax increment by redevelopment agencies, bond insurance, letters of credit, and other mortgage-backed securities programs.
